The

Fannie Lou Hamer
Project

Fannie Lou Hamer,
a Mississippi sharecropper,
changed a nation's perspective
on democracy.

Born in 1917, Hamer became involved in the civil rights movement when she volunteered to attempt to register to vote in 1962. By then, 45 years old mother. Hamer lost her job and continually risked her life because of her civil rights activism. Despite of this and a brutal beating, Hamer spoke frequently to raise money for the movement, and helped organize the Mississippi Freedom Democratic Party (MFDP), to challenge white domination of the Democratic Party.

In 1964, the MFDP challenged the all-white Mississippi delegation to the Democratic Convention, and in 1968, the Convention seated an integrated challenge delegation from Mississippi.

Deeply committed to improving the life of poor minorities in her state, working with the National Council of Negro Women and others, she helped organize food cooperatives and other services. She continued political activities as well, helping to convene the National Women’s Political Caucus in the 1970s.

She died in 1977 and is buried in her home town of Ruleville, Mississippi, where her tombstone reads, "I am sick and tired of being sick and tired."

The Project

We are excited to announce a special initiative where each syringe of dermal filler purchased will contribute to a great cause. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to The National Hook-Up of Black Women, Inc. (NHBW), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of women and their families.

About NHBW: NHBW is committed to enhancing the well-being of women and their families through a variety of impactful programs. Their mission encompasses:

Arts and Culture: Promoting cultural enrichment and artistic expression.

Education: Supporting educational initiatives and opportunities for women and families.

Health and Wellness: Providing resources and programs that promote physical and mental health.

Service Programs: Offering various services that address the needs of the community.

How It Works

For every syringe of dermal filler used in your treatment, a portion of the proceeds will be donated to NHBW. This partnership helps fund their crucial programs and support services, ensuring that your beauty enhancement also contributes to meaningful social impact.
